Kanchi Silk goes Trendy

The previous blog on Kanchi silks gives all the needed information on this centuries old Kanchi silk. But even that can be made trendy and modern looking. Unlike the sarees posted on the previous blog this blog has sarees that are totally off-beat and very unusual. They make sarees that resemble Pavadi Davani. One of the sarees in the picture is of that kind. Also, sarees with no borders are made with motifs on the body of the saree and a very grand contrast pallu with a blouse matching to the pallu.

Do check out these two latest blogs for traditional and trendy Kanchi Silk sarees.

You may accessorize the trendy saree with a treandy looking 1gm jewelry.

The Other Facet of RU Creations

I would like to change gears and talk about the other side of RU Creations....the jewelry!!

When a lady wears a saree it is beautified with the jewelry she wears.  We live in an era where jewelry is made to look exactly like the pure gold pieces. In addition we get all different color stones to match any and all off-beat color saree
s.

One gram gold jewelry has taken over the wardrobe of Indian women these days.  Instead of spending almost 10 times more on a pure gold set , ladies prefer this so they can own more and it does not look anything different.  Win- Win situation!

The base metal is brass and the craftsmen use their creativity with stones and beads and coat it with a 1gm gold COAT.  They come in various sizes and shapes to cater to every lady's taste. Ifr u are a lady who wears chunky sets, trendy ones, or simpler pendant and earring sets-  all these types are available in 1gm.

Enjoy and have fun coordinating

Picture Perfect

When we take a look at the old antique Tanjore paintings,  women are almost always highlighted. The magnificent lady featured is invariably either carrying a plate of fruits, daydreaming, or it is almost always a painting of Yasoda. The women always wore sarees, of course, and more interestingly, their blouses were always a total contrast and did not match the body of either the saree or the body.

Fast-forward to this day and era; the same trend is still very much in style. Follow this trend and you yourself will certainly feel like one of the beautiful and elegant ladies from the ancient Tanjore paintings.

Here's a saree that fits the example perfectly!

FYI: Cotton-Silk Sarees

These days, cotton-silk sarees come in extremely different styles and patterns.

The primary ones are the ones that replaced the kanchi ones to suit the hot weather of Chennai, which look exactly like the traditional kanchi sarees, with a solid body with double side borders.

They either come in contrast colors or one solid color with a gold border.
They also come with work (designs) these days as well as embroidary.

I have been seeing half and half lately with 2 colors with designs of geometric patterns and no border.
The best thing is, whatever pattern or style you wear , wearing these sarees are not just comfortable, but will make anyone feel a little more regal and stately.

Sun TV style edition

If you are a fan of "Thiruppavai" in SUN TV, you definitely would not have missed Anuradha Krishnamurthy's (Ranganayaki) fabulous sarees.

Well, RU Creations carries sarees that Anuradha Krishnamoorthy wears! We have had almost all colors and patterns over our past 20 months in business.  The look is fantastic and looks very festive with right accessories and looks simple to suite the occasion with toned-down jewelry.

And best of all, it is perfect for the Texas weather just like it is for the Chennai!
