Toned down appearance

As a followup to yesterday's suggestion,  I would like to talk about another type of look:

It is supremely important not to always be attention grabbing/seeking, just because your outfit is flashy and grand as well as accessorized with chunky jewelry.

There's definitely a way to tone it down- with a simpler piece of jewelry and a pair of small and dainty earrings. Dangling earrings almost always give a more extravagent look, because after all, the bigger and longer the earring, the grander it looks.

If you're looking to be more inconspicuous, wear a set that has a stud as the earrings, and instead of wearing a dozen bangles on your wrists, sport just one kada, one banglet or bracelet.  One gram gold jewelry has come out with various kinds of these in various sizes.  The bangles and kadas are simply superb with beautiful stones and crystals finished in antique finish . So, depending on the occasion, if you choose the right accessories, the cotton-silk saree you are wearing can be made grand or simple.

The Other Facet of RU Creations

I would like to change gears and talk about the other side of RU Creations....the jewelry!!

When a lady wears a saree it is beautified with the jewelry she wears.  We live in an era where jewelry is made to look exactly like the pure gold pieces. In addition we get all different color stones to match any and all off-beat color saree
s.

One gram gold jewelry has taken over the wardrobe of Indian women these days.  Instead of spending almost 10 times more on a pure gold set , ladies prefer this so they can own more and it does not look anything different.  Win- Win situation!

The base metal is brass and the craftsmen use their creativity with stones and beads and coat it with a 1gm gold COAT.  They come in various sizes and shapes to cater to every lady's taste. Ifr u are a lady who wears chunky sets, trendy ones, or simpler pendant and earring sets-  all these types are available in 1gm.

Enjoy and have fun coordinating

Picture Perfect

When we take a look at the old antique Tanjore paintings,  women are almost always highlighted. The magnificent lady featured is invariably either carrying a plate of fruits, daydreaming, or it is almost always a painting of Yasoda. The women always wore sarees, of course, and more interestingly, their blouses were always a total contrast and did not match the body of either the saree or the body.

Fast-forward to this day and era; the same trend is still very much in style. Follow this trend and you yourself will certainly feel like one of the beautiful and elegant ladies from the ancient Tanjore paintings.

Here's a saree that fits the example perfectly!

Deja Vu

In the 1980's, temple-border, or Gopuram border sarees, that were etched in Kanchi silk were all the rage. Basically, this was a solid color as the body, and the border had a contrast color with temple designs threaded in gold.  The pallu was simple, and of course, in those days, they did not come with attached blouses.

This exact style has made a huge comeback in Chennai over the last year, with one difference being that it is slightly more elegant.  The saree of today has a solid color as the body as well, with a contrast border, but also has a gorgeous tissue pallu. It also comes with a blouse attached with mini temple borders on the sleeves.

We have seen many news anchors on Indian TV, models and socialites wearing these patterns over the past few months.

RU Creations currently carries a beautiful and popular combination of this type- photo attached!

FYI: Cotton-Silk Sarees

These days, cotton-silk sarees come in extremely different styles and patterns.

The primary ones are the ones that replaced the kanchi ones to suit the hot weather of Chennai, which look exactly like the traditional kanchi sarees, with a solid body with double side borders.

They either come in contrast colors or one solid color with a gold border.
They also come with work (designs) these days as well as embroidary.

I have been seeing half and half lately with 2 colors with designs of geometric patterns and no border.
The best thing is, whatever pattern or style you wear , wearing these sarees are not just comfortable, but will make anyone feel a little more regal and stately.
